The Keyword of a successful board is "Community"
So WHERE ARE YOU PEOPLE?
I've been looking around on other boards and such that hold several... contest like that. Drawing contests, writing contest, contests of users - and other stuff.
Now Contests seem like a nice idea altogether - now the problem however is that the last contest (Who will end 1st March - may I remind you) didn't hit on all too well, seeing on how many people wanted to enter but simply didn't.
Maybe it was the wrong Genre
Maybe it was the wrong Theme
Maybe it simply was wrong Prizes
But even if it ends now and I contact the winners afterwards - I doubt starting a new one and picking it more carefully would have any effect since the members seem... sprawled
What I'd like to see is that the people come here on their own accord because they like it here, and not because I have to tell them to CHECK OUT every new addition that in the end doesn't really bloom in first place anyway, because of lack of interested or whatnot.
So I suppose there's got to be another way. This fandom is so small that it's surprisingly hard to keep all the members together at all times, and it sure couldn't be the lack of topics to talk about, or the fact that most things already HAVE been discussed. There are plenty unanswered/rarely answered topics around here, and a lot of topics people have suggested to me on IM Messengers but never ever actually opened up here.
I have seen Generations of Members come and go on others boards ever since I've been around on the net, and it does appear to be unavoidable - but it just can't be that the generations in the Mulan fandom consist of only one or two people every year that feel totally lonely end eventually leave because there's no one to talk to.
I wouldn't blame you people if you left - I'm not sure if I'd stick around if I wouldn't feel so responsible.
Like... yeah, I dunno anymore :/
I am actually contemplating to shut the board to "private" so that people have to register/log in to see the contents. Like some sort of desperate last resort - it's saddening.
